Christine Turner is a Chemistry Teacher at English Martyrs' School. Rated as a Pioneer in 5 of the 6 DigiLit Framework strands, she wanted to share her knowledge with her colleagues in the school, and if possible, in the city. She was invited to be on the Schools Expert Advisory Panel for the initial DigiLit framework. Christine recently gained her MPhil in ICT in Teaching and Learning with Loughborough University, and has penned a thesis entitled "Learner Generated Content Using Web 2.0 Technologies - Does the use of webtools and web technologies in the classroom have a positive impact on students' perceptions of their learning?" Christine has already developed a series of websites and wikis which she has used with her students. These can be viewed on her website.
In her project Christine ran some CPD sessions for her colleagues on how ICT can be used in teaching and learning, co-ordinated all of the case studies and disseminated the project to colleagues across Leicester City, by creating, maintaining and moderating the Personal Learning Network: DigiLittle Acorns.
The table below shows the statements from the DigiLit Framework that were addressed in this project:
